Canada Learning Code is seeking a dynamic and engaging Senior Director of Fund Development to lead the revenue and fundraising portfolio, which contributes significantly to the achievement of digital learning experience by Canadians.  Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer, and member of the CLC Leadership Team, the Senior Director of Fund Development is a pivotal leadership role and will be responsible for the development and implementation of Canada Learning Code’s fund development strategy that drives diverse revenue streams, with a focus on national and regional corporate partners and high-value individual donors. 

The Senior Director of Fund Development will be expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate sponsors, various levels of government, the education community, as well as CLC stakeholders, serving as an ambassador for CLC and elevating its profile as a valuable and integral part of the skills and technology communities. The Senior Director of Fund Development will manage a team of two Corporate Partner Leads/Managers and will also be an individual contributor leading the team from the front ensuring the organization meets its annual fund development goals.  

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in fundraising, communications, business, or a similar field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience and a record of success in not-for-profit fundraising, relationship management, communications, or business development.
  • A proven and experienced fundraising leader, with strong understanding of major gift fundraising best practices and ability to secure gifts from individual donors and corporate partners with expertise in all aspects of fundraising including pipeline development, cultivation, and solicitation of gifts at the five-figure level and above.
  • The ideal candidate is a dynamic, driven and an articulate leader with an ability to forge relationships.  They will be skilled at communicating the CLC vision in a compelling and engaging fashion.
  • Ability to lead and be a spokesperson for the organization, joining round tables, networking events, and delivering presentations in various settings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, willingness to listen and to help build consensus.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability is required. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality related to donors, clients, staff, and other organization information.
  • The ideal candidate will bring strong budgeting, business acumen, and solid decision-making skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while anticipating quickly changing needs.
  • Proficiency in web-based applications and programs (G Suite).
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRMs is a plus.
  • Willingness to occasionally support evening or weekend events or attend meetings.

The hiring salary range for this position is $160,000 - $170,000 based on experience.


This full-time position is fully remote and can be based anywhere in Canada with preference for the Greater Toronto Area and proximity to the technology sector. The position requires occasional travel for meetings and donor engagement as required for this role.
